My Story
When my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia, I entered a world that many parents know all too well — a world filled with questions, worries, and hopes for the future. Like so many families, we faced uncertainty but also uncovered strengths we hadn’t seen before. That journey not only shaped how I supported my own child but also how I now assist other children and families.
I know first-hand the rollercoaster of raising a neurodivergent child. As someone later diagnosed with dyspraxia myself, I understand the challenges from both perspectives, as a parent and as a learner. These experiences lie at the core of Olive Branch Learning, offering a branch of hope to families who may feel unsure where to turn.
For over twenty years, I have worked in education, from Montessori primary classrooms to senior leadership roles. Along the way, I trained as a specialist dyslexia tutor and assessor (SpLD Level 7). This professional background, combined with my personal experience, has shaped my patient, personalised approach to learning.
At Olive Branch Learning, I offer more than just assessments. I provide personalised teaching, practical guidance, and encouragement for children and their families. My goal is always to help each child understand their unique learning style, build confidence, and develop the skills they need, not only for school but for life.
It is a privilege to walk alongside families on this journey, helping them recognise that with the right support, their children can thrive — slowly but surely, like the steady growth of the olive tree.
